Abstrak

Tofu liquid waste is a by-product of the tofu industry when soybeans are processed into tofu. Based on Republic of Indonesia Minister of Environment Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning Waste Water Quality Standards Produced from the Soybean Processing Process, tofu liquid waste must meet several certain parameters, such as a maximum BOD of 150 Mg/L, a maximum COD of 300 Mg/L, a maximum TSS of 200 Mg/L, and has a pH range of between 6 and 9. Liquid waste originating from the tofu industry has a composition consisting of macromolecular materials, including carbohydrates of 0.1%, protein of 0.42%, fat of 0.13%, Fe ( iron) of 4.55%, phosphorus of 1.74%, and the main component of 98.8% is water. This research aims to identify wastewater produced by the tofu industry in Kuncen Village, Padangan District, Bojonegoro Regency. Test results for waste water characteristics show that the temperature parameter of 55°C does not meet the quality standard, namely 30°C. The test results for the pH parameter of 5 do not meet the quality standards, namely 6 - 9. Meanwhile, the TSS parameter is by the quality standards, namely 10.58 mg/L below 200 mg/L. The BOD test results of 5 meet the quality standards, namely 39. 4 mg/L below the quality standard value of 150 mg/L. The COD test results of 115 mg/L have met the quality standard value requirements of 300 mg/L.
