Abstrak

Kuncen Village, Padangan District, is facing serious problems related to liquid waste from the tofu industry. Waste that is simply thrown away without special treatment will result in unpleasant odors and damage to water quality. This problem arises due to a lack of understanding about the benefits of waste, access to technology, environmental awareness, and funding constraints to build expensive IPALs. In answering this challenge, an interesting solution is to convert liquid tofu waste into biogas through an anaerobic process. Therefore, a Community Service Program (KKN) was launched with a focus on processing this waste into portable biogas, to provide a sustainable energy alternative and reduce the negative impact of tofu industry waste. The KKN process begins with coordination and site surveys, making biogas prototypes, operational trials, and approaching local communities through outreach. Although biogas production trials have not met expectations, several influencing factors have been identified, such as waste pH that needs to be increased, the size of the gas storage drum that must be adjusted, and potential leaks in pipes and components. The result of this program is increased public awareness about the management of tofu liquid waste and the benefits of biogas.
